Additional Programs | Mainstream Program

All services emphasize the success of children and youth using spoken language and listening skills in the mainstream setting. The mainstream program is staffed by credentialed teachers of the deaf and speech therapists experienced in teaching children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Services include:

  • Aural rehabilitation therapy for children and adolescents with cochlear implants.
  • Itinerant teaching services for students in the mainstream.
  • Homework Groups designed to enable children and youth who are hard-of-hearing and deaf to obtain skill, desire, and confidence in literacy and math.  We work with elementary, middle and high school students on all levels of development.
  • IEP/IFSP planning
  • Transitional planning.
  • Classroom observations
  • Family education and support services.
  • Consultation to educators working with students with hearing loss.
  • Educational workshops on a variety of topics for professionals and parents of children with hearing loss, including:
